A Guide to Moving to Perth |
Moving to Perth
Perth is the most isolated major city in the world. Instead
of driving to Perth you may want to consider having your cars
transported there for you. By the time that you add up the financial
costs (fuel, hotels, engine wear and maintenance) along with
the amount of time it will take to reach Perth, the benefits
of having your vehicle delivered for you become increasingly
apparent - not to mention the fact that you'll have enough on
your plate moving thousands of kilometres across the country
without having to drive all that way as well. We can perform
this service for you at a competitive price. Visit our quotations
page for a quote or add it to your existing inventory if
you have one.
Western Australia's geographical isolation has, to an extent,
guarded its native flora and fauna from animal and plant pests,
diseases and weeds that could devastate W.A.'s unique and important
ecosystem and agricultural industry. Consequently, Western Australia
has very stringent laws that must be adhered to when entering
or transporting goods into the state. If you are moving to W.A.
from another state you will need to fulfil the requirements
of the Western Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service
(WAQIS). Plants cannot be transported into W.A. and you must
complete a freight declaration form that we issue with all quotes
and bookings going to W.A. You may also download the form and
find more information from the Department
of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia.
Packing your removal boxes properly is always important. However,
the journey from East to West coasts is the longest and most
rigorous is Australia. For this reason alone, we recommend that
you pay special attention when packing your boxes or consider
using our specialist Pre-Packing Services.
Perth is experiencing growth at an exponential rate. As a result
the real estate market has become quite competitive, making
it more difficult to find a place to buy or rent. If you're
finding it hard to find permanent accommodation consider moving
your goods into our secure storage facilities. Read more about
our storage and redelivery services.
Getting Around Perth
From the Airport: A suburban airport bus runs regularly
from the Airport to Perth suburbs and privately run shuttles
meet inbound flights at an increased cost. Taxis are also readily
available and there are several major car rental companies located
at the Airport.
Within Perth: Perth has a good public transport network
that runs in the city and out onto the suburbs. Public transport,
provided by Transperth, is free within the inner city bounds
(the "Free Transit Zone") and includes buses, trains and ferries.
Transperth links with Transwa - Western Australia's rural transport
service.
